Where has the time gone?

My sincerest apologies for being completely out of touch with everyone. Being short-staffed at Gringott's and overcoming other hurdles at home have made it virtually impossible to have even an hour to myself some days. The house should be full again, and I'm desperately looking forward to that. It would be a nice change from the complete silence that usually meets me upon arriving home. It will also give me an excuse to come home and not to spend my days and half my evenings at work.

Perhaps I should take a holiday this summer. It will be the first one in years. The children can come, as well. I can barely recall our last one to Greece because it has been that long. So, it is definitely worth considering, if our finances are in order.

Two this morning.

Three this afternoon.

One more scheduled for tonight.

Anymore and we are going to need to start hiring more workers posthaste.

Private to Armand:
I shall be late for dinner tonight. There is no need for your food to get cold so, please go ahead and start without me. I will be home as soon as possible.

Private to Herself:
I need a holiday.

Now that we know they are responsible, these Goblins are seriously grating on my very last nerve. First with the incident last year and now this? Either they need to be gotten rid of entirely or taught an even firmer lesson. Several of my closest colleagues were injured and killed in this heinous attempt. Where are their senses anyway? They killed their fellow goblins.

Also, as a result of their audacity and, most importantly, their stupidity, I am now forced to work the weekend to pick up the slack of those killed and injured.

Just when things were finally starting to settle down again. I swear, if another rebellion is on hand or any further dissension is shown amongst those who cannot understand that their species is less than that of ours, then I'm going to cut each and every one of their fingers off.

Private to Family:
I have to stay late again today.

Private to Death Eaters:
A goblin was found dead outside of Gringotts this morning. The letter "D" was etched into his its hand.

These odious Goblins. After the stunt their fellow comrades pulled, you would think that they would show an ounce of preservation and respect towards their betters for allowing them to still maintain their employment. However, they still remain surly and act as if the bank is still wholly within their possession. Granted, those who currently remain were not responsible for the incident several months ago, but they should be more reluctant to anger their superiors.

There is the consolation that we are finally fully staffed once more after several months of being short. Several of our new employees have yet to start as quite a few of them have been recruited from Hogwarts and will start a week after they leave. It will be time consuming to train them, but once that is over, things should begin to run more smoothly once more.

Despite my reluctance to return, I'm back at Gringotts weeks before the Healers recommended I go back. Under normal circumstances I would have listened, but I received an urgent owl from one of my coworkers last night complaining about each department being understaffed. I've been here since eight this morning, it's half past four now, and I'm finally taking a short lunch break. It's been a long day and has no prospects of ending anytime soon. I don't even know when I'll be home tonight.

The Management Team is contemplating hiring additional help due to the shortage and the inability for those of us left to keep up with the coming and going of customers throughout the day.

[Handwriting shaky]

I need a Healer and I want to go home. The bleeding started up again yesterday and hasn't stopped yet. I'm going to die here, aren't I? I feel so sleepy, but I'm unable to fall asleep for some reason. I keep hearing the rain on and off, and it's no longer relaxing like it was. It's like funeral drums, tapping out each beat before everything is over and done with.

It was raining this morning and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if it was the last time I would hear the pitter-patter of rain on a tin roof. It's such a relaxing sound.

The children have returned to school and the house is quiet again. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone when I say that I don't like it and would much rather have them running around and needing our constant attention. At least they left behind a mess for me to clean up; one of these years, we will make it to King's Cross without the typical rushing about and forgetting things at the last moment. We still have a few more years to perfect it, anyway.

How much longer until they return home for the summer?
